Shipping
Many of the products on our website are ready-to-ship from our warehouse – on these products, a stock count will be displayed, and you can expect to be contacted us regarding collection on the same or the next working day.
Any items which specify a lead time are not directly available from our warehouse but are in-stock with our distributors. This means we can normally get the machine to you within a few days. However, occasionally there may be delays to this, which we will keep you informed about.
In rare cases, manufacturers may be out of available stock for products, but we are still expecting them to continue producing the equipment or item in the near future. In this case, you will see a message informing you of unusually high delays before ordering the product, and we will keep in contact with you after the purchase with a timeline and your options.
Returns & Refunds
In-store
We will accept returns for an exchange or a full refund for all of our products within 14 days of delivery/receipt of the product. The product must be in new, resaleable condition, with all original packaging. You must produce a receipt to confirm your purchase. Refunds are at the sole discretion of Hertfordshire Garden Machinery.
Online
We want you to be completely happy with your purchase and so you may inspect the items you buy as if you were in store. However, whilst you are deciding whether to keep your purchases, you do have a statutory duty to take reasonable care of the goods. Therefore, please do not use or damage the items whilst you inspect them. Do not try them in an environment that might make them dirty (e.g. in the garden).
If you change your mind about a purchase from our online webshop, you have 14 days from delivery/receipt of the product to inform us of your intent to cancel in writing. You do not have to give us a reason, although we may be able to find you a more suitable resolution if you provide one.
Once you have informed us of your intent to cancel, you must return the product within 14 days to us in-store, or contact us and we will arrange collection of the item(s). Refunds will be processed upon receipt of the item, providing it has not been damaged by misuse or neglect. We may deduct reasonable costs for items which are used or damaged beyond what is reasonable to inspect the goods.
We will not provide refunds where we have not been informed in writing of your intent to cancel within 14 days, or if the goods are not returned to us within that subsequent 14 day period, unless explicitly noted in writing by us.
If a product is found to have a fault within 30 days of receipt/delivery of the product, you have the legal right to request a repair or replacement of the machine. This will usually be supported by the warranty provided by the manufacturer. If the repair or replacement fails, you have the legal right to request a refund against the goods. This refund will be reduced to take into account any use or damage of the machine except where this use or damage is caused solely and directly by us. You are not entitled to claim for defects if an item is sold with a fault noted at the point of sale, or a defect should have been obvious at the point of sale. You must bear the cost of returning the goods unless noted in writing at the point of sale.
This policy is offered in addition to your legal rights. While we make every effort to ensure our terms and policies meet the full standards of the law, in the event that any of these terms conflict with your statutory rights, they will not be affected. For full information, please contact us.
